Our Nursery

With Rainbow Nursery catering for children up to 3 years old, Rainbow Preschool is the next step in their educational journey. Catering for children aged three years to five years old, Rainbow Preschool offers a very well-balanced and flexible routine enabling them to learn at their own pace. We provide a wide range of open ended resources and the open plan layout is designed to meet all the requirements set out within the Early Years Foundation Stage, including: music and dance, art and crafts, a reading area, and an exploration/role play area, to name a few examples.

We have three multi-functional outdoor areas. Children can explore our herb garden and plant vegetables and flowers; participate in den building, climbing and developing their skills on the bikes. If they do not want to do any of these they can enjoy making their own recipes in our very own mud kitchen.

When it comes to leaving Rainbow Preschool we endeavour to ensure your child is developed and ready for the transition to their chosen primary school. This will include being fully toilet trained, having the ability to use a knife and fork confidently, able to read/write their own name, and able to fully undress/dress themselves, along with many other skills.

Our curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage and we use ‘What to Expect When’ as a tool to understand your child’s development. Parents keep up to date with how their child is progressing using our Parenta online system.

Stay and Play

We offer a no obligations 'trial' for our nursery, called 'Stay and Play'. You can, subject to availability, bring your child in for a free session in a nursery to make sure it's a good fit for them. This will also give you the chance to look around and ask our staff any questions you need. Make sure to contact us in advance to organise this.

Meet the Team

Naomi Clark, Head of Childcare

Naomi Clark

I became inspired to work with children from a young age, through various volunteering roles and was able to see how children grow, learn and develop this then developed my interest to pursue this as a career. I first started working for Child Dynamix as a Nursery Officer when the Janet Genter Community Nursery opened in 2001. Now with over 23 years’ experience in the childcare industry I have progressed through a variety of roles and currently hold the position of Head of Childcare Services.

I have a BA Degree in Early Years and hold the Early Years Professional status and my role is very varied and includes responsibility for all childcare projects across the company, including day nurseries, crèches and holidays schemes. During my time with Child Dynamix I have successfully completed my degree and professional status as well as qualifications in leadership and management and assessing amongst others.

Lynsey Hughes

I first started working as a Nursery Nurse in 2006 and have since then progressed through a variety of roles and currently hold the position of Manager.

My work experience was based within a nursery when I was 15 years old and I knew from then on I wanted to work with children. I left school and completed my Level 3 in Childcare and Education at Hull College and secured my first job as a Nursery Nurse. Whilst working  in a nursery I completed my BA Honour’s Degree in Early Childhood and Care and an Apprenticeship in Management. I am the named Safeguarding Lead and SENCO Support Officer. I am always eager to learn new skills to gain further knowledge which will enable me to support children, families and staff within the Nursery.

I enjoy working with children and watching how they progress and development new skills. My aim is to give children the best quality of care and provide opportunities for them to thrive and explore in their Early Years.

I have worked in the Education sector for 23 years but came to Early Years in 2020 after deciding it was time for a change.  I have worked my way from practitioner to room leader to Deputy Manager in other local nurseries and joined this nursery in 2023.

I love working as part of the team and have thoroughly enjoyed providing the best possible care for the children.  I am passionate about giving children new opportunities and encouraging them to develop their skills and independence through their own interests.  I live locally to the Preschool which gives me a good understanding of the opportunities and challenges in the area.

I have a PGCE in Primary Teaching and have completed lots of relevant training.  I lead on Special Educational Needs within preschool.

With over 20yr’s experience in the childcare field, I have had the privilege of growing alongside the children within my care. Starting as a student, I have worked my way up through dedication and a genuine passion for nurturing young minds.

Each day brings new and exciting challenges which I tackle with enthusiasm and readiness. My commitment lies in providing children with the unique opportunity to learn and develop, fostering their growth into strong, confident individuals.

I take pride in being part of their journey towards a brighter future.
