Our Nursery

Opened in 2024, Rainbow Nursery is a large converted Victorian semi-detached house set within the idyllic area of The Avenues. The area boasts lots of natural beauty and wildlife with good support links to both the local community and transport links further afield.

Alongside our baby room, young toddler room and toddler room, Rainbow has a large outside garden area and indoor soft play area, so children have lots of different ways to explore and discover.

Meals

We provide healthy and nutritious meals for all our children and can cater for any food allergies/intolerances. We hold the Healthier Options Award, granted by Hull City Council, for our provision of healthier food choices! We also have a Food Hygiene Rating of 5 out of 5 from the Food Standards Agency.

Our curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage and we use ‘What to Expect When’ as a tool to understand your child’s development. Parents keep up to date with how their child is progressing using our Parenta online system.

Stay and Play

We offer a no obligations 'trial' for our nursery, called 'Stay and Play'. You can, subject to availability, bring your child in for a free session in a nursery to make sure it's a good fit for them. This will also give you the chance to look around and ask our staff any questions you need. Make sure to contact us in advance to organise this.

Meet the Team

Naomi Clark, Head of Childcare

Naomi Clark

I became inspired to work with children from a young age, through various volunteering roles and was able to see how children grow, learn and develop this then developed my interest to pursue this as a career. I first started working for Child Dynamix as a Nursery Officer when the Janet Genter Community Nursery opened in 2001. Now with over 23 years’ experience in the childcare industry I have progressed through a variety of roles and currently hold the position of Head of Childcare Services.

I have a BA Degree in Early Years and hold the Early Years Professional status and my role is very varied and includes responsibility for all childcare projects across the company, including day nurseries, crèches and holidays schemes. During my time with Child Dynamix I have successfully completed my degree and professional status as well as qualifications in leadership and management and assessing amongst others.

Lynsey Hughes

I first started working as a Nursery Nurse in 2006 and have since then progressed through a variety of roles and currently hold the position of Manager.

My work experience was based within a nursery when I was 15 years old and I knew from then on I wanted to work with children. I left school and completed my Level 3 in Childcare and Education at Hull College and secured my first job as a Nursery Nurse. Whilst working  in a nursery I completed my BA Honour’s Degree in Early Childhood and Care and an Apprenticeship in Management. I am the named Safeguarding Lead and SENCO Support Officer. I am always eager to learn new skills to gain further knowledge which will enable me to support children, families and staff within the Nursery.

I enjoy working with children and watching how they progress and development new skills. My aim is to give children the best quality of care and provide opportunities for them to thrive and explore in their Early Years.

I have been in post since 2021 and have been the Big Toddler Room leader since September 2023. Myself and the Big Toddler Team pride ourselves on the care and support we offer to your children and enjoy every day as it comes. We like to ensure every child gains valuable life skills and experiences to shape their future.

My desire to work with children started when I was young but really grew when I took part in the Duke of Edinburgh award when I was 15. In this I completed a number of volunteer placements in schools and SEND support groups. I enjoyed seeing how all children grow and develop in their own way, and learning different strategies to support them.

I attended the University of Hull in 2018 and completed my BA Hons in Early Childhood Studies within which I gained lots of information and knowledge that I am able to put into my practice today. I have also taken part in a number of training sessions to support all my roles.

I love creating a happy and stimulating environment for the children to learn in, alongside exciting activities for them to learn. I want to help the children in our care reach their full potential and become ready to transition into our Pre-School where their independence will develop even more.

In 2001  I completed my NVQ Level 3  whilst working in a nursery. During my 20 years of being a Nursery Practitioner I have enjoyed working with all age groups and I enjoy seeing children progress and meet their milestones. I am known within the setting for my passion for messy play, I strongly believe messy play provides children with many opportunities to develop a range of skills which helps them develop in all areas, plus seeing their happy and messy faces makes my job so fulfilling .

I am currently the room leader of the baby room due to my mothering nature and calm persona. I am the Group Inclusion Officer. I am always willing to complete further training to extend my knowledge which will help me give the best quality of care to the children I look after.

I have worked for in a nursery  since 2013 . I started my role as a relief member of staff, being mainly based in the Baby room. After a year I was employed as a full time member of staff based in the baby room. I then was promoted to the Baby room Leader and worked within the baby room for 8 years. I loved watching the children’s firsts. Their first crawl, first steps and their first smile and overall watching them grow.

Over time I wanted to gain experience in working with another age range. I am now the Young toddler room leader and enjoy hearing the children begin to communicate and watching their personality shine.

I have a level 3 Childcare qualification and have completed safeguarding and SEND training. I also am the health and medical needs officer and work alongside families to ensure health care plans are carried out and the children are safe at nursery
