Our Nursery

Our Preston Road Community Nursery was the first Child Dynamix nursery to open, back in 2001. The nursery moved in 2005 into our current home, a purpose-built setting within Little Stars Family Hub. This change allows parents to access our Family Support services on the same site as their children’s nursery.

Our purpose-built nursery has three spacious and well-equipped rooms, as well as a large outdoor space. Our experienced nursery practitioners ensure every child is reaching their full potential, engaging them in activities to help your child learn, grow, and develop. We are proud of the 20+ years of exceptional childcare we have provided for the Preston Road area and we look forward to continuing to help children reach their full potential!

We provide healthy and nutritious meals for all our children and can cater for any food allergies/intolerances. We were awarded the Healthier Options Award by Hull City Council for our provision of Healthier food choices! We also have a Food Hygiene Rating of 5 out of 5 from the Food Standards Agency.

Curriculum

Our curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage and we use ‘What to Expect When’ as a tool to understand your child’s development. Parents can keep up to date with how your child is progressing using our Parenta online system – log in and find out everything to do with your child's progress and their nursery journey.

Stay and Play

We offer a no obligations 'trial' for our nursery, called 'Stay and Play'. You can, subject to availability, bring your child in for a free session in a nursery to make sure it's a good fit for them. This will also give you the chance to look around and ask our staff any questions you need. Make sure to contact us in advance to organise this.

Meet the Team

Naomi Clark, Head of Childcare

Naomi Clark

I became inspired to work with children from a young age, through various volunteering roles and was able to see how children grow, learn and develop this then developed my interest to pursue this as a career. I first started working for Child Dynamix as a Nursery Officer when the Janet Genter Community Nursery opened in 2001. Now with over 23 years’ experience in the childcare industry I have progressed through a variety of roles and currently hold the position of Head of Childcare Services.

I have a BA Degree in Early Years and hold the Early Years Professional status and my role is very varied and includes responsibility for all childcare projects across the company, including day nurseries, crèches and holidays schemes. During my time with Child Dynamix I have successfully completed my degree and professional status as well as qualifications in leadership and management and assessing amongst others.

Hi I’m Lizzie Darnell-Wragg, and I am currently the Nursery Manager at Child Dynamix Community nursery – Savoy Road and Preston Road I started my career at Child Dynamix, as part of the team at Janet Genter Community Nursery (now known as Child Dynamix community Nursery) as an adult trainee in April 2003, after serving as a mechanic in the Army.

I completed a L3 in Early Years Care and Education as an adult trainee and have since completed a BA honours degree in Early Year’s Policy and Practice. I have now worked for Child Dynamix for 18 years, and progressed on through positions, and managed our Preston Road nursery for 11 years, before moving to the Savoy Road Nursery in February this year. I am currently studying a Masters in the lifelong learning and I am interested in supporting vulnerable adults with their learning and development, as well as enhancing the breadth of knowledge for early year’s practitioners.

Seeing children grow and develop from babies, to now seeing some of them as parents themselves, gives me overwhelming pride and hope that I inspire others to achieve the most out of their lives.

I have BA Hons in Religious Studies with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and also Early Years professional Status (EYP). Prior to being a teacher I worked in various nurseries and holiday clubs. I have 17 years as a Nursery Manager, 6 of these managing two settings at the same time. I recently worked as a Safeguarding and Welfare officer for Doncaster Council before joining Child Dynamix May 2022 as the manager for Preston Road nursery. I aim to help children achieve their individual potential in preparation for their school life journey.

I have a BA honours in Early childhood studies and I have worked in childcare for 19 years now, 3 of those years with Child Dynamix. I really enjoy working with young children, to see how they grow and develop and the impact early learning has on their journey in life. I have got a sense of achievement and pride when a child discovers a new skill or says new word – it makes me smile and happy inside.
