Mini Ecosystem

The Rainbow Centre manager (Wendy Drury) agreed to allow the group to redesign and replenish the rooftop space that had been left for some time. The group designed the space that included building a seating area with herbs growing in the middle and chose to pick a wide range of flowers that were purchased from Myers Beck creating a mini ecosystem on the roof at Rainbow centre.

The group also played a valued part in the Beach Clean, researching the impacts of plastics and established that more than 30% of all Haddock, Cod and Mackerel had traces of plastics present.

The group also visited Frith Farm and the young people got to experience green woodwork, making natural balms and learning about sustainable food growing. The group have also visited Ravenscar and witnessed the amazing site of a seal colony, getting to within 10 meters of the massive males.
